Time for my monthly plug for Carolina Cinemas in Asheville. I bypass the four closest cinemas to me just so I can go to Carolina Cinemas. The FREE showings are the main reason for this but I also love their customer service, FREE soda refills, and FREE popcorn refills (with Asheville Film Society membership).
Carolina Cinemas also has a full food menu (try the Chicken Basil pizza and the Red Velvet cookie balls) and a large variety of beer and wine.
Every Thursday evening at 8 p.m., there is a FREE horror movie shown in the cinema lounge. Arrive early though as they usually start a serial about 7:30.
12/6 Double feature King of the Zombies (1941) and Bowery at Midnight (1942) w/ Bela Lugosi
12/13 The Monolith Monsters (1957)
12/20 The Invisible Ray (1936) with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi
12/27 The Vampire’s Coffin (1958)
Every Tuesday evening at 8 p.m., the Asheville Film Society puts on a FREE movie in the cinema lounge. Membership is not necessary to attend. No showing for Christmas.
