More Junk from the Netflix Trunk

Here’s a bunch more junk I’ve watched on Netflix recently

Coma (2012) – Not rated

“In this made-for-cable miniseries based on Robin Cook’s bestselling novel, a doctor begins to suspect that something is amiss when several seemingly healthy patients begin lapsing into comas after routine operations.”

Bleh! As with the Andromeda Strain remake, Coma takes a movie with a decent medical premise and turns it into a miniseries starring pretty people doing wildly stupid things. The entire miniseries only runs two and a half hours so at least it is short.

Airborne (2012) – Unrated

“After takeoff, the passengers on a plane discover that the pilots have been brutally murdered. Suddenly, the plane disappears off the radar, and one by one, the passengers turn into dangerous, bloody psychopaths.”

Airborne has some good ideas but they are poorly executed. Airborne is only notable for having Mark Hamill in a supporting performance.

Strippers vs. Werewolves (2012) – Not rated

“A private dance at the Silvadollaz strip club gets hairy and ends in exotic dancer Justice defending herself with a silver fountain pen to the brute’s eye, igniting a blood feud between strippers and werewolves.”

Strippers vs. Werewolves is really awful with terrible werewolf makeup. I turned it off after about fifteen minutes.

Dead Season (2012) – Unrated

When a worldwide viral outbreak leads to a plague of zombies scouring the earth for the living, two survivors flee the chaos of America to a remote island, hoping for a chance to start a new life. What they find is unrelenting horror.”

Dead Season is another horror movie that has some interesting ideas but not the money to pull them off. If you don’t mind the low-budget, it is a passable hour and a half.
